Author's Note: So. This is not quite finished, although the way things are going, it’s going to be finished pretty soon (and hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself), but I thought since you enjoyed the bit of wee! Will and wee!Clint, that I would begin posting the story. I’m going to break this up into chapters; probably through my breaks already in place. This takes place after both the Avenger and MI4 movies so there are spoilers for both through-out the story.
The Avengers (plus Will) finished up their breakfasts quickly and paid, herding the IMF team out of the diner. Steve kept assuring them that even if Tony wasn’t expecting them, there was plenty of room for three more people. When they entered the lobby, en masse, Cynthia stood up; clearly prepared to do battle with them. Steve smiled winningly at her. “Miss Cynthia, I believe you met Mr. Brandt yesterday? And these are his friends. I’m just going to escort them upstairs.”
“Of course, Captain Rogers. Do they need security clearance? Or will Ms. Potts be taking care of that?” Cynthia replied.
“They’re just visiting for a few days,” Steve replied. “But I’m sure Ms. Potts will take care of what they need. Just don’t worry if you see them walking through for the next day or so. I’m sure they’ll be with one of us.”
“Thank you for the information. Have a good day, Captain.” She turned with a nod, heading back to her desk.
“You also,” Steve replied before motioning for the group to proceed him into the elevator.
Clint popped the access panel on the top of the elevator, but before he could climb up; Natasha glared at him. “Nyet.”
“Nat,” he started.
She pointed to where Will was watching with a look of exasperation as Clint started to make his move. “Your cousin.” Her finger moved to the rest of IMF team. “His friends.”
Clint sighed. “Fine.” He dropped back down into the elevator.
“Did we miss something?” Benji asked.
“Clint’s not fond of enclosed spaces with lots of people,” Darcy explained, moving over to let him have a little more room. She squeezed his arm. “It’s a short ride, Birdy.”
“It’s fine, Darce.” He smiled at her. “Tony does have good elevators.”
“So who’s this Tony you’ve all been talking about?” Benji asked after an awkward minute of them all standing in the elevator.
“Tony Stark,” Bruce answered. “He owns the building.”
“Wait for it,” Ethan said.
“Are you serious? Are you kidding me? Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! The Tony Stark? Are you ACTUALLY serious? You people. You know the Tony Stark? And I’m going to meet him!?”
Darcy turned to Natasha. “Can I taze him?” she asked.
“No!” Steve, Clint, Natasha, and Bruce all said.
Darcy pouted. “No fun.” She perked up after a moment. “Can I watch Tony taze him?”
“Tony’s not going to taze him,” Steve explained. “It’ll be fine,” he added as Benji started to hyperventilate. “Just don’t take most of what he says seriously.”
“Of course I’m going to take what he says seriously. He’s Tony Stark,” Benji replied.
“What’s the big deal?” Clint responded. “I mean. He’s rich. And smart. But he’s also an asshole.”
“Takes one to know one,” Natasha pointed out as the doors slid silently open.
“I should be offended by that, right?” Clint asked Will as he followed the rest into the common room.
“She’s your partner, cuz.”
Tony threw his arms out wide as the group spilled out of the elevator. “Where have you all been? You left and I was here all alone!”
Bruce snorted. “Tony, all of us could leave and you still wouldn’t be here all alone. If nothing else JARVIS is still here. And we just went to breakfast.”
“But you left me. My science bro. And I had fun science to show you!” Tony protested.
Bruce eyed him. “Have you slept yet?” He took Tony’s arm. “Come on. You can show me later. After you’ve had some sleep.”
“Mr. Stark?” Benji stepped forward as Bruce wrapped his hand around Tony’s bicep, preparing to draw him off. “I’m Benji. Benji Dunn. I just want to say. It’s an honor. An honor to meet you, sir. I’ve been trying to convince our bosses to use your tech exclusively but they…”
“Was I expecting someone to come flatter me today?” Tony asked in confusion.
“No.” Bruce coughed a laugh. “It wasn’t scheduled. We’ll occupy him while you sleep. He’s a friend of Will’s.”
“Will? Do I know a Will?” Tony asked. “And I like him.” He pointed at Benji. “Can I keep him?”
“No!” Natasha and Darcy said in unison as Benji looked ready to agree.
“Come on, Tony.” Bruce tugged Tony away. “Can someone call Pepper and let her know Tony’s down for the count?”
“I will,” Steve volunteered. “Thanks, Bruce.”
“So what were you planning to do for the day?” Jane asked as Steve went to place the call from another room.
“I was planning to spend a quiet day with my cousin. I didn’t intend for him to be manhandled by my team leader,” Will pointed out.
“We talked about attempting the tourist thing,” Clint pointed out. “We could try that?”
“Statue of Liberty?” Will suggested. “I don’t think we’re gonna drag Benji away even if Stark is sleeping, but Ethan? Jane?”
“I don’t know that we should leave Benji unsupervised,” Jane commented. “But you go. And Ethan, you too. Have fun, boys.”
It was soon decided that Natasha and Darcy would join them. When Bruce returned, he convinced Jane that he was more than capable of keeping an eye on Benji, and showing him around the labs. She finally agreed that she would go with them. Natasha disappeared for a few minutes, returning clad in a pair of tight jeans with an emerald green shirt. A leather jacket was slung over one shoulder. She handed something to Darcy, who had ditched her oversized purse on one of the couches when they entered.
“You might want to change,” Clint commented, looking Ethan and Jane over; both of them dressed in casual business wear. “Will?”
“On your six,” Will murmured.
“I’ll see what I can do about getting them outfitted,” Natasha said.
When they reconvened, Ethan did a double-take; looking between the cousins. The two men were clad in soft-wash jeans and combat boots. One had on a gray t-shirt and the other a blue t-shirt and the one in blue was carrying two leather jackets; handing one off to the other as they entered the room. “Oookay,” Ethan said slowly. “Which one is which?”
“You can’t tell?” Natasha said. “Well, I guess that might be an issue.”
Jane eyed them for a minute, watching the way they moved, before slowly smiling. “Really, Ethan? It’s not that difficult.”
“Natasha, how are we getting through the city?” Darcy asked before they could devolve into petty bickering.
Natasha exchanged glances with the cousins. “Bikes?” she hazarded. “It’s probably our best bet.”
“Two on three?” one of them asked. “We’d need leather for Ethan and Jane.”
“It can be done,” Natasha agreed. “Take them down.”
Ethan let out a low whistle at the sight of the cars and bikes in the garage. “You have access to all this? I thought our toys were good.”
“Nah, most of this is Tony’s,” Darcy replied, crossing the garage to start taking helmets off the rack and handing them. “But he lets everyone store their vehicles here.”
“So…” Ethan’s hand trailed along the bike closest to him. “Am I going to be allowed to drive one of these beauties?”
“Nope,” Natasha replied. “You’re riding with me.” Before Ethan could protest, she pushed him towards one of the bikes; leaving the rest of the group alone.
“Birdy, am I riding with you?” Darcy asked once they were out of earshot.
“Question, why do you call him ‘Birdy’?” Jane asked. “I mean, it doesn’t seem that…appropriate?”
Clint shrugged. “It’s a nickname. I like high places. We ready to go?”
Natasha came back with Ethan in tow as Clint handed Darcy onto the back of the bike they were riding. Will offered his hand to Jane as Ethan studied the two of them. “You can really tell them apart?” he asked.
“I’m not thinking much of your powers of observation if you can’t,” Jane responded.
Natasha said something, causing both of the cousins to laugh, and Ethan to frown. “That wasn’t Russian,” he commented.
“I can speak more than Russian, Mr. Hunt. Shall we?” Without waiting for an answer, Natasha kicked her bike into gear, roaring out of the garage. Will and Clint yelled in response, tearing after her. Darcy squealed as she clutched at Clint’s hips, exchanging grins with Jane.
