Author's Note: This is not on my list, but it attacked me while I was hanging laundry today or at least the idea of Henry dressing Bella did. Then it took a left turn thanks to Cee’s neuroses. “Hi,” Cee greeted the blonde as she opened the door. She stepped back as she indicated the other woman should enter, ducking her head and giving her a shy smile. “Will should be down in a moment.”
The FBI agent returned the smile as she entered. “Thanks. Cee, right? You’re Henry’s…wife? Girlfriend?”
“Mate, but yes, you would say wife,” Cee answered. She glanced towards the stairs, obviously looking for someone.
“Well, congratulations by the way. Will told me you had your baby. You look fabulous. Did you have a boy or a girl?” Abby asked when Cee didn’t seem inclined to say anything else.
“A girl. We named her Bella,” Cee answered.
“That’s pretty!” Abby exclaimed. “Oh she must be the cutest thing! So what are you planning to do today? Oh, I know! You have to go with Will and me. We’re going to this art faire thing. It’s outside and there’s arts and crafts and performances and it would be so much fun! It’s prefect. You can even bring the baby!”
Cee stumbled back, almost overwhelmed by the chatter spilling from the other woman’s mouth. “We have…um…Henry and I…I don’t know that…” She looked like she was flailing around verbally for a moment, but then her expression changed and she seemed determined to answer. “Thank you, but we have plans already.”
Abby blinked at the change from the stumbling woman to the determined façade, but didn’t seem to mind the change. “What do you have planned? I mean there’s only so much you can do with a little one and…”
“No. Thank you,” Cee said as firmly as she could. “We’re doing something with just the family.” She turned at the sound of male voices on the stairwell, looking relieved at the sight of Henry and Will headed down the stairs. Henry was carefully cradling a baby against his chest, although he was paying attention to what Will was saying to him. Both of them were grinning, clearly proud of themselves. “Will,” Cee called towards them, “Abby’s here.”
Will grinned, waving down at her, and replied, “Hey!” He pointed to the baby, added, “Look, Cee, no harm came to her.”
Henry was grinning proudly as the men reached the two women. “I told you I could do it,” he told her, turning away as Cee reached out for the baby. “I’m not planning to drop her.”
“I just want to check her,” Cee said softly, stroking a hand down Bella’s back when Henry refused to relinquish her. “Abby invited us to join her and Will,” she explained.
“And what did you say?” he asked.
“I told her we had plans already. Was that all right?” She looked worried for a moment and he loosened his grip on the baby, passing her over.
“We’ve talked about this. You don’t have to ask my permission for all decisions. Is it something you want to do?” Henry wrapped his arm around her, knowing the Cee would feel better with the physical contact.
Abby opened her mouth to ask a question, but Will shook his head, gripping her wrist gently. “Just. Let him deal with it.”
“Maybe?” Cee answered tentatively.
“Cecilia,” Henry said firmly. “Yes? Or no?”
“Yes,” she answered in a slightly firmer voice. She looked at Will, who was giving her an encouraging look. “As long as Will doesn’t mind. And the offer is still open.”
“Absolutely not,” Will agreed. “It will let us spoil Bella a little. Although I think you should take the carriage Magnus gave you since we’ll be walking a bit.”
Henry grinned, happy to see Will going along with it since Cee had made the decision with only a little prompting from them. “Good idea, dude. I’ll go get it.” He kissed Cee quickly on the cheek. “Look at Bella’s shirt. She already fits it!”
Cee frowned but turned Bella around, cradling the baby against her chest so she could look down at the shirt her daddy had dressed her in. After a moment, she started chuckling as she read Future Dragon Hunter. Will grinned at her reaction. “I have no idea how he got one that small,” he commented.
Cee continued to smile as she turned Bella back around, patting her back as the baby began to fuss. “It’s Henry,” she answered as if that was answer enough.

4/5/11 12:41 (UTC)Can I just cuddle Cee and make everything perfect for her, so she doesn't feel so ... I don't know, lost? Sad? Nervous?
I know she's happy with Henry and Bella and being at the Sanctuary and a part of that family/pack, but I hate that she's so unconfident because of past pack shit. *pets her* I just want to cuddle her, think Henry would let me? LOL

4/5/11 15:19 (UTC)You can absolutely cuddle Cee! I know she breaks my heart. I was talking about it...I feel so bad for the way I've completely...broken her, but I'm slowly trying to mend her. I need to go back and write the back story...it's actually worse than you've seen.
She is ecstatic with Henry and Bella...but still worried about so many things. Henry would be fine with your cuddling her, but unfortunately it would most likely freak Cee out. Just getting her to let him take Bella out of her sight is a big step.
She has serious neuroses and they (Henry, Will, and Kate and Magnus and Biggie) are slowly breaking them down. I was explaining to whogeek last night, she actually does better outside of the Sanctuary because she has to act more "human" for lack of a better term. So she puts on a better front.
And I have a crossover with H50 where she actually yells at Steve (that's a whole 'nother neuroses there--completely confuses her that Steve's "beta" in her eyes doesn't submit to him...)

Wow I'm just so flattered. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying them. I have a lot of fun with Cee. I took her from two songs that I know so I love that people love her.

The one where you see her as friends with Steve is actually an AU of the series. I'm not sure yet whether they will end up as friends in the non-shifter verse crossover. I still have to finish that one. I know case-wise where it's going but not people wise.
