Hello and Welcome to Shanachie's Quill
Some of you have been reading me for a while (I am Medie Shanachie on fanfiction.net and also shanachie13 here on livejournal), but I noticed recently that my writing is taking over my regular blog...so I am doing some separation. From now on all of my writing and graphics will be posted here and then linked to my various fandoms. One because I tend to make these entries public and my more personal stuff friends' only and two because honestly it was getting a little too much to have it all in one place (and yes, I just needed one more thing to keep track of).
So a little background and some links and then I'm going to close this and re-post some old things before beginning to add new things. It'll probably be a few days before I actually add anything new, but over the next few days I'm going to add all of my old stories (in proper chronological order) and also tag and memory and sort everything to make it easier to find.
Background first:
My day job is that of a Special Education English teacher. Not my first choice, but at the moment, I'm not getting paid for writing. :-) I've been writing for a long time, but have only recently entered the world of fanfiction (after a life time of swearing I wouldn't write fanfiction--I kinda backed into it in '07 and just keep getting sucked deeper). I live to write and sometimes it takes over my life. I will discuss my characters, my muse, and pretty much everything in my writing as if they were actual real people, so don't be shocked by that.
I will be snarky, sarcastic, but I will try not to be downright mean. I support the military, but not the war and I am extremely opinionated, temperamental, and stubborn. (Just figured I'd lay it all out on the line right up front.) That said I love hearing what other people think of my work and I do take criticism well--honestly I do.

At the moment, I write in three fandoms:
Stargate (both SG-1 and Atlantis--although I am more partial to Atlantis) with Evan Lorne being my main focus.
Numb3rs with Colby Granger being my main and pretty much only focus.
Leverage which I have just recently entered so I am still finding my footing there. Eliot Spencer is my favorite playground there, but since I'm still getting my bearings I'm working on finding what I'm going to do (and I've only got a couple of stories in that fandom). I haven't tried more than Eliot and Hardison so far, but a friend recently gave me a great description of Parker ("write her like a seven year old with ADHD who likes to blow things up") so I am now more willing to attempt her.
I do have a couple of crossovers within the fandoms and I actually have an idea I am going to begin with Leverage and the Transporter trilogy (thanks again to the same friend who gave me the Parker description).

Soldiers' Angels I'm shanachie13 on there also and we're always looking for new angels (yes, my halo is held up by devil horns, but I swear I'm not the only one).
And shanachie for those of you wondering...is Irish Gaelic for storyteller..apropos, don't you think?
So I guess that's about it as an introduction.
