NCIS, Tim+/Abby, Attending [any big SF/F convention] together
Tim hung back slightly as Abby plowed through the crowds, clearly heading for something specific. Although he’d been playing the MMORPG that everyone teased him about for years, he’d yet to attend any type of convention so when Abby invited him to go with her, he’d had no good reason not to say yes. Which meant somehow he’d ended up in New York City, trailing her around the convention center. Everywhere he looked were more people, some of them in costumes, some of them in regular street clothes. He knew Tony thought it was odd when he dressed up as the Elf Lord for Halloween, but some of these people were even more dressed up than he had been.
Turning he realized he’d lost track of Abby somewhere in the crowd. Pushing up onto his toes, he tried to see around the people in front of him, hoping he’d catch sight of her black pigtails. For the people in their immediate area, Abby had been dressed rather sedately; despite her normal gothic attire, but right now he couldn’t catch even a glimpse of her.
He was just about to panic, thinking he’d lost her completely in the crowd when a hand landed on his hip. He jumped almost a foot in reaction, turning to see Abby grinning at him.
“Did you think I’d run off?” she asked.
“I didn’t know what happened,” he admitted. He noticed something clutched in her hand. “What did you find?”
She bounced a little on her feet before dangling the necklace in front of him. A large red stone set in a black ring dangled off a beaded chain. “I found a Fullmetal Alchemist red ring! It’s almost impossible to find!”
“That’s great,” he said. “Did you find anything else?”
Her grin actually widened. “The box set. All seventy-five books of Fullmetal Alchemist. Together.” Abby’s hand waved in the direction she’d disappeared in. “They’re holding it for me to pick up later.”
“That’s… good. Can you not run off again?” he asked.
“Aaaww.” Abby tucked her arm into his. “I didn’t run off. I went to buy something.”
“I thought I’d lost you.”
“Nope.” Abby pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. “If you’re overwhelmed, just think of it as research. It would make a great book.”
Tim stared at her. “What? Murder at Comic Con?”
“I think it would be perfect.”
