I know I’m so horrible! I didn’t get last week’s done and this week’s has already aired. (And I probably won’t get this week’s done for a few days.) So as soon as my player finishes updating… I’ll get started.
So did everyone enjoy the last couple of weeks? It got cold here and then warm and now it’s cold again which is why this week’s commentary is coming to you from my bed and under my nice heated blanket.
I think they changed the comics a little this week, I like it.
So how many people guessed it was Coulson under the hood? *raises hand*
*snorts* May have a mold problem. Uh-oh big tough interrogator.
I like the cuffs! And is Ward now part of the Calvary?
I like their sleds! And of course Coulson fixes his tie. Very nice little rescue.
She looks about twelve, but she knows what she’s doing. *winces* Simmons not the best of jokes. “Whatever you don’t, don’t breathe.”
Coulson so awkward about “Keeping it safe, up there.”
Simmons is so happy about going to the Hub. I’m guessing FitzSimmons used to be at the Hub or spent time there.
And Skye learning the difference between big brother and Big Brother.
Oh I thought at first their ID badges were bracelets but they are badges.
Aw Skye wants to look up her parents, which makes sense. I like that Coulson says he’ll look into it. I still do think he’s hiding something.
SITWELL! Who clearly knew Coulson was alive since he says he’s glad to see Coulson is feeling better not holy hell dude you’re alive. (Randomly Sitwell is a comic canon character whereas Coulson was added later after his appearance in the first Iron Man.)
*Skye’s bracelet snags on the wall panel* “Is this your subtle way of saying I can’t come with?”
“We’ll be back.”
Hee FitzSimmons so excited about the tech and running off.
Blah blah blah briefing that essentially gets our team involved.
And has anyone figured out what’s with the red in the Hand lady’s hair?
Oh Fitz getting stuck in the door. *pets him* “What. The. Hell? Who designed this? In the Hub of all places?” I love them all just standing there watching him.
Simmons blathering on as Fitz packs his bag. And worried about him. “Don’t you do anything rash while I’m gone. Like jump out of an airplane.”
“Take care of him.”
“Of course, sir.”
Aaaww Science babies smile
“Does this feel okay to you? Shouldn’t we be going with them?”
“The people who put these ops together are the best of the best. They know what they’re doing.” But do our boys?
I love the boys in their work clothes and the sunglasses. Oh Fitz trying to tell a joke. Or well a story about Simmons sneezing in a vacuum chamber—which is rather funny actually.
Oh Simmons worrying about the Night-Night gun. And Skye trying to get information out of May. “Which non-expression is that?”
Uh-oh something’s going on that this woman is poking at Coulson.
Ward please stop terrifying Fitz. It’s not going to do anything but scare the crap out of him.
Uh-oh the lights went out!
Skye you aren’t going to get any information out of Coulson.
“I can’t be a part of your bad girl shenanigans. I like following the rules and doing what’s expected of me. It makes me feel nice.” I just love that Simmons used the word ‘shenanigans’!
Oh no! Fiiiitz. Heee I love how they make us think he’s being tortured and he’s just fixing the electricity.
“Little Bear?”
“I like watching him work. Little Bear.”
And Fitz is the one who gets them across the border! Granted for a very expensive ride, but across the border.
“Two million rubles. We have to work on your negotiation skills.”
“I thought they were like pesos.”
“Fitz, more border patrol.”
(I have absolutely no idea what Fitz screams as he runs away but it’s amusing.)
Coulson and his talking to May while she flies or exercises or does things and doesn’t talk back has yet to cease to amuse me. It’s awesome.
Okay so. May and Ward are Level 7. Coulson is Level 8. Simmons (and I’m going to assume Fitz) are Level 5 (since 5 is what flashes up when she scans her ID when she and Skye are doing their little computer B&E) and Skye isn’t even Level 1 yet. Just an FYI.
I love how Simmons finishes Skye’s sentences like she does for Fitz. Clearly she is missing her usual partner in crime.
Hee Simmons made a special something to open the panel. “It’s what we do.”
Oh no Sitwell. And Simmons not the best person to play it cool.
Is Sitwell flirting with Simmons? And Simmons attempting to flirt back?
Oh Simmons. “I definitely shot Agent Sitwell. Good. Good. Good.”
I love Skye calling them “our boys”. Also Simmons sweetie, you are a civilian, you cannot be court-martialed.
The boys sitting there waiting and Fitz pulls out his sandwich which yes bad idea but oh Ward you threw it away. You could have just told him to put it away. Well no you probably couldn’t being you. But I don’t think you got it far enough away. I don’t think any food is completely odorless. (I could be wrong though…)
Oh Skye, I know you want to find your parents, but finding the boys is much more important right now. And good I’m glad she made the right decision.
“What did I tell you?”
“You told me to trust the system. And the system sent Ward and Fitz in there to die.”
I love their little pouch to get into the compound.
I really have no reaction to the argument between Skye and Coulson because I can see both sides. I understand her point of wanting to protect the boys, but I also see his point of following the rules and going by the book. At the same time, they are both the way they are for a reason.
I’m kinda digging action!Fitz.
Oh Ward just figured out they have no extraction.
Hee I love Fitz watching the fight through the ‘x-ray window’ and not realizing Ward went in and took out the guards. “Ah. That makes sense now.”
“It doesn’t look like it can take a jet out of the sky.”
“You should know by now, Agent Ward, that looks can be deceiving.”
*after opening it up*
“This is going to take a while.”
“You have ten minutes.”
“I thought you’d say five.”
So clearly we’re playing by Scotty’s rules of engineering…
“You yourself have designed dozens of operations like this, you know how this works.”
“Usually with an extraction plan.”
“Barton, Romanoff, they never have an extraction plan.”
“They know that going in.”
Fitz arguing that he’s every bit the SHIELD agent Ward is. Was adorable. Aw Coulson told each of them to take care of the other.
“What about the SHIELD assault?”
“We won’t interfere. You don’t need a battalion for an extraction. Three can pull it off.”
“Four is better.”
“You’re in? Thought we all had to be Level 8 to discuss this.”
“We’re not discussing anything.”
“Okay, Fitz, let’s go. We need to slip out of here before they notice the device is powered down.”
“Got it.”
*in unison* “We need a new plan.”
“Are you sure this is going to work?”
“Yes. Theoretically.”
“I just did that.”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. Let’s go.”
“They said they needed a guy like me and a guy like you. Right?”
“Right.”
“It’s the extraction team?”
“Better. It’s the cavalry.”
I can’t tell if she’s pleased Coulson and the team went in after the boys or not. Sitwell looks…almost bemused. But also confused.
Aw Simmons and Fitz. And Fitz telling her that the sandwich is delicious.
Oh Simmons. “I shot a superior officer in the chest.”
So a SHIELD agent dropped Skye off at the orphanage. But we don’t know anything about her. Speculations?
Coulson looks so awkward when Skye hugs him.
So Coulson knows something more. I wonder if we’re going to get to know more. And he wants May to help him. Someone is dead. I’d say Skye’s mom probably.
Coulson isn’t allowed his own file!
So I’m not sure if we got more questions than answers this week, but I liked action!Fitz. And the interaction between Fitz and Ward (I swear he’s becoming more human each week.) And I really liked the Skye and Simmons referring to them as “our boys”… still can’t like Skye but I gotta admit I’m interested in her background.
Anyway I’ll try not to be so late with next weeks. :-)
