Hey y'all...so I was chatting with

emocezi yesterday (and today) and we were talking about how Hawaii Five-O doesn't have a kink meme yet...so I'm kinda intrigued by this idea.

With that idea in mind...is anyone else interested? Cause if it's just us...well I'd like to get some more people interested before I start throwing this together...and my throwing together is a whole lot more organized than it sounds.

The other thing is I'd like to take a look at some others before I start mine...so can some people point me in the direction of some? So I can take a look at them?

You should take a look at

inception_kink, which has been run really well. It has a delicious page, so everyone can find certain fics/prompts easily and sort by kink, pairing, character, etc. I don't know if this kink meme would be large enough to require that, but it's something to consider. You might also think about the number of comments to cap each post at, if it comes to that. LJ has a limit of 10,000 comments per post, and with people filling prompts and leaving comments that fills up pretty quickly. I think capping it at 4,000 comments/post before starting a new post has been successful.

But anyway! I would be interested. :)

Sweet and ooo good suggestions...yeah I'm figuring this will take me a few days to get up and running.

I'm involved in the Losers' Mini-Bang so I'm considering running it something like that...with prompts on one page and then fills on another, but we'll see.

Personally I'd rather have a gen fic com to post directly to rather than have to rely on the new com where there's no complete header.

And by gen I meant you could post whatever to it, not that everything in it would be gen :D

Ah um...yeah...I think there are already a bunch of fic comms...which is why I'm looking at doing something more specific.

Yeah but there's not actual post anything com. If you have het or gen in this fandom you don't have anywhere to put it except send a note to someone with the news community which doesn't post full headers.

Okay...I don't know what to tell you about the fic comm, but that wasn't what I was asking about. We're looking at doing a kink comm, which while yes it involves writing and fic'ing--is a specific type.

Maybe talk to some of the other mods about doing a general fiction comm? I know there's an Hawaii 5-0 100. Or google? There's got to be a comm...I've been reading fic, so it's gotta be there somewhere.

Well there's already a fic meme comm so we're kinda looking at it being more an actual kink meme...I don't really know how to explain it at the moment.

And after my whole crappy porn writing that I showed to my friend tonight...yeah...anyway...although I fully blame the whole 3am thing on the crappy part.

Depends on your definintion of kink: If you include cuddling and not just bondage and all kinds of sex play, I'd bet you get more people interested than just the kinky bunch. ;)

If you look at the discussion we've been having (towards the end of the comments), yes we're including the cuddling, etc. Not just kinky sex play. Looking at upping the rating and not just the general fic meme like is already out there.

I've run an erotica contest in the past and might pull some of those ideas from it (might not). I'm still going to go look at some of the different comms I have been links to/know of, I had a long night Saturday night and a long day yesterday so hopefully once I get a couple of things done around the house I can pull some stuff together.

It'll be a few days before anything comes of this, but more than likely I will do something.

Yup...it's kinkme_h50 but it doesn't seem to be doing very well. I need to do some pimping and get the word out again. I've just been sidetracked by other stuff.

I don't know why either! It boggles me, really. I'd love to help out however I can though.

The only thing I can come up with is there are so many prompt memes, etc. that this one just got buried.

At the moment, I'm not in a big hurry to get it going again. I've had some people who know me through the Leverage fandom talk to me about running a re-watch over the summer which I've agreed to do. And since I know most likely not many other people will do that, I'm focusing on that. I've also got a lot of my own writing and some editing to do so I've been focusing on that.

Once some of that and my RL calms down a little (I swear I thought not teaching would mean I had more time...) I'll look at this again.

Meanwhile if you want to pimp it out...be my guest. Or even look through, I won't be able to focus on anything until after Easter at the earliest.
