Aiden grinned as she watched the Marines attempt to herd the FBI Agents towards the conference room on the Athena. Finally seeing that they were too awed by the reality they had been dumped into, she pulled Colby aside. "I realize this is a lot to take in, but we really need to get moving if we're going to rescue Evan and Meredy. Is there any way to refocus them?" she asked.
Don overheard her. "I'm afraid Charlie is completely lost to us," he explained. "But hang on." A moment later, he had rounded up Megan and David and redirected them. "This is way out of our realm of reference," he pointed out. Grabbing Charlie by the arm, he began to drag his brother in the direction Aiden indicated.
Aiden grinned, exchanging glances with MacFadden who was next to her. "You don't even know the half of it, Agent Eppes," she responded. Turning, she said something in a low voice to the Marine in another language. He nodded in response and turned aside as they reached the room, heading in another direction.
"What was that about?" Don asked. "And what language was that?"
"I sent Mac to acquire armament and TAC vests for us all. And the language, I'm afraid, is classified, and not under your need to know." Aiden nodded respectfully at Colonel Stone as the commander of the Athena entered the room they were in. "Colonel, these are the members of the FBI we'll be taking with us. And I'd like to request an assault team if you can spare one. Do you have a squad of 302s? And have you had any luck locating Ba'al's ship?" The questions were rattled off quickly, Aiden obviously wanting to get things started as soon as possible.
"The assault team is prepping as we speak. As are my 302 pilots. We haven't located the ship yet, but we’re working on it," Stone replied. "Were you planning on accompanying the assault teams?"
Aiden nodded. "I was. Why? Is that a problem?"
"As a civilian, you really shouldn't be accompanying the Marines on an assault," Stone responded.
Aiden felt more than saw her Marines stand up behind her. By themselves the unholy duo were not that imposing, but array them together and they made a fearsome sight. Especially now that they were angry and primed for blood. "In the words of John Sheppard," Aiden started, "court-martial me later." Then she grinned, baring her teeth almost in a snarl. "Oh wait, I'm a civilian. You can't court-martial me. You cannot stop me. You can order me to stay and I just won't obey. In this case, I outrank you. Now you can either help me or I will take control of this vessel out of your hands and still do as I wish."
Stone glared at the slighter woman for a minute, then replied, "You will have all the assistance you require, but I'm registering a complaint with the Air Force."
"Do what you want," Aiden replied, "but stay out of my way." She turned back to the computers that Deke had set up, hoping the black man had succeeded where the others had failed so far, but he shook his head. They still had not located the ship. Aiden gave a sigh of frustration as she realized she was helpless at this point; that there was nothing more she could do. Looking around, she tried to find something to occupy herself.

“Excuse me!” Charlie said loudly, interrupting the various conversations going on around the room as everyone worked at their computers and tablets, trying to locate Ba’al’s ship. “My name is Professor Charles Eppes and I’m a mathematician from CalSci. My sister is one of the people missing and I want to offer my help.”
Some of the military people turned and look at him, but a lot of them just ignored him. Charlie cleared his throat again and tried something else. “I have a number of theories and ideas that could locate Meredy and Lieutenant Colonel Lorne,” Charlie suggested.
When everyone continued with what they had been doing, Charlie fished a notebook and pen out of David’s pocket. He started scribbling furiously away on a fresh piece of paper. He used whatever information he had at hand to help with his calculations, glancing over people’s shoulders and checking and re-checking his information. After an hour or so, Charlie picked up his notebook, smiled triumphantly and handed it to Deke.
“I think you’ll find these calculations will help you find my sister and Lieutenant Colonel Lorne,” Charlie said confidently, as Deke accepted Charlie’s notebook with interest. Charlie went and stood beside David. He glanced down at the notations, then grabbed for his tablet and quickly tapped the ideas into his programs.

Colby drifted over to where Aiden had ended up standing behind Deke as she tried her hardest not to badger him. “Is there anything we can do?” he asked in a low voice.
She looked up, glancing over at her Marines who were attempting to look like they were waiting patiently. “No,” she sighed. “Not really. Unfortunately this is outside my skill set. And probably yours too.”
He grinned sheepishly, resting a hip against the edge of the table. “Just a little. I mean I’m a little beyond point me at it and I’ll shoot it for you, but yeah. I was military intelligence and all, but… I’ve learned over the last few years to just smile and nod when Charlie gets going.”
“I’ve got my own skills, but what Deke does? Yeah I got no clue. And Murray’s great if we give him something to blow up, but you need to give him strict instructions first. The other two boys are much better at thinking for themselves.” She bumped her shoulder against his side. “So. Meredy? This is a good thing?”
Colby ducked his head. They had exchanged letters, but those had become few and far between in the last few years and had only touched on the bare outlines of their lives. “Yeah. Yeah, it’s a really good thing. What about your LTC? What’s the story there?”
“He rescued me,” Aiden answered and when Colby looked at her in confusion, she laughed. “I’m not kidding. I got stuck underneath a console on our base and he pulled me out. I got assigned to go on a mission with his team. And things just kind of spiraled from there.”
“And the rest? How did you end married to him?”
“Serendipity,” Aiden answered simply. “It wasn’t planned. But I can’t say it was a bad thing.”
“So it’s a good thing?” Colby repeated her words to her.
“Yeah.” Aiden smiled softly. “It’s a very good thing.” She glanced away as MacFadden entered the room, burdened by tac vests and weaponry. A group of Marines followed him.

MacFadden held the TAC vest out to her as she stepped away from Colby. "Everything okay, Little Doc?" he asked quietly.
"I'm fine," she replied shortly.
MacFadden knew he was tempting fate, but he had to try to keep Aiden from risking herself. "Maybe you should stay behind while we assault the ship," he suggested. "For the little colonel if nothing else."
Aiden glared at the red-haired man. "Mac, I'm going to pretend you did not just say that to me."
"I'm not saying you're unable to do it, Aiden. I'm simply suggesting that in your current state, it might be better if you didn't accompany us."
Aiden slid a clip into the P-90 that she had picked up. "I'm going to rescue my husband, Mac. None of you are going to stop me. I'm pregnant, not injured or ill. Now are we done?"
The Marine nodded and grinned. "Yes, ma'am."
Aiden glared at him. "Goddess damned military always 'yes, ma'aming' me. I swear it really means 'fuck you'."
MacFadden's grin widened. "Yes, ma'am."
Deke let out a crow of triumph. "Got it!"
“Where?” Aiden almost flew across the room, leaning over his shoulder. “Can we get there?”
Deke finessed his tablet for a minute, clearly working on something. “With Rodney’s programming and some tricks I’ve picked up in…well. Never mind where I picked them up. Yeah. We can get there. Not many of us, but yeah.”
“Twenty?” Aiden asked.
“What are you thinking?” Don asked.
“This is what I’m thinking.” Aiden tapped a finger on the table, calling up a program and beginning to lay out a plan of attack.
