Round-Up of August Goals
This is what I did during the month of August. I don’t think I did too badly.
1. Continue to write at least 200 words a day (for a minimum of 25 days) or edit daily.
I wrote or edited for a total of 26 days last month. I wrote all but 6 days and edited on one of those days. I wrote a total of 17,157 words. I edited just two stories and I finished nine stories.
2. Finish at least TWO on my Fic to Finish list or make significant progress on four. (Attempt not to add anything other than Primeval or more Assassin Baby to the list.)
I added just a couple of things to my list, but most of them were from my Assassin Baby series. There were a couple of other little Avenger things, but they were all finished quickly. I do have one thing I am still finishing and I did also add one little outtake for my MI4/Avengers crossover, but it’s already done and posted.
3. Try to find the rest of the letters for the Alphabet Challenge. I have Q, V, and Y left to read. Seriously…I need suggestions!
I still have the same three letters left. So far no luck finding books for them.
5. Finish Bry and Jay’s sampler and start their pillowcases. Also make a smaller version of the cookbook I made for Sis and Kat for the shower.
I finished the sampler and Mom made it into a very pretty pillow…I’ll try to post pictures later. I picked out the thread and started the pillowcases. And the cookbook is finished and wrapped. (The shower is tomorrow—9/2)
6. Sort through and organize the books in my room at Gramma’s. Decide what I’m keeping, reading, and getting rid of. Ask if anyone wants the books I’m getting rid of. Box up the ones that are lying around until the new shelves get here. Decide where the shelves are going. Decide if the chair is staying.
I went through about half of my books. I put most of them in the garage sale—didn’t bother asking anyone. I boxed up some of the others. I have my shelves now—they’re on the back porch and have started moving stuff. I know where I want to put them in my room and I did decide I am going to keep the chair for now. I’ll explain in September goals what I hope to do.
7. Work on going through the boxes in the closet. Send things over to other house for garage sale.
I got rid of a couple of things for the garage sale, but they didn’t really sell. I still need to go through things and also all the millions of boxes at the other house (when in hell did I acquire so much SHIT?!) I have no idea how or what I am going to do about all of it.
8. Finish mini-PC book. Continue working on the other.
I am totally bad about this. I cannot seem to get any traction on either book.
9. Make an Avengers Coloring Book since we can’t seem to find one anywhere.
I’ve dabbled with this. This is another thing I can’t seem to get any traction on. I’m not finding pictures I really like. I’m going to email the people involved with this.
10. Look into dance videos/programs (that I can do at home) and/or other exercise options. In addition look into costs and options for an archery program.
I didn’t end up looking at online dance programs, but I’m getting some dance videos from chrismouse when I see her later this month (September) so I’ll have ideas and things to do then.
As for archery. I googled it in New Jersey, but it doesn’t seem like a viable option at the moment in Jersey. There’s not many places to shoot in Jersey and it didn’t look like there was a place I could go to get lessons. The only place that looked even remotely interesting had no prices or real contact or anything. So for now I’ll just leave it alone.
